TERM AND HOLIDAYS  

My studio is open throughout the year for adults and, apart from Xmas, bank holidays and my own absences, which will be notified as they occur, children may continue coming for lessons during school breaks.

ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to attend at least 36 sessions a year.

ENROLMENT

Please do not expect to enrol for lessons if you are about to go on holiday or will be away for any other reason after you have been here for a trial lesson. You will forget all that I have taught you and I am unable to reserve any unattended sessions while you are away, so please wait until your return if you intend to book a trial lesson, rather than break the continuity.

You can reserve lessons while you are away by paying a retainer of half the fee, otherwise the sessions you want may be taken by other prospective students while you are away.  

PUNCTUALITY 

Please note that students are expected to attend regularly and punctually at the time arranged. If you are late for a lesson, I cannot extend it into someone else's lesson; if you arrive too early, you will be expected to wait until the time your lesson is booked.

WAITING ROOM

Students may wait in the  waiting room or in their cars if they prefer until the time of their lesson. Ring the bell once only on the outside door when you arrive to let me know you are here. If the door is closed, open it and come into the waiting room. Please do not knock on the glass. I will come and get you when it is time for your lesson.

New Year's Day, Sunday 1 January; Bank Holiday, Monday 2 January

Good Friday, 6 April; Easter Monday, 9 April

Bank Holiday, Monday 7 May

Bank Holiday, Monday 4 June; Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Tuesday 5 June

 Bank Holiday, Monday 27 August

Christmas Day, Tuesday 25 December; Boxing Day, Wednesday 26 December

No lessons are held on Bank Holidays, with no loss of fees to students

STUDENT CANCELLATIONS

If you have to miss a lesson, for whatever reason, please let me know by 1pm the day before, otherwise there will be a full cancellation fee, except for illness and emergencies.

TUTOR CANCELLATIONS

Lessons missed owing to cancellation by the tutor will not incur any student fees.  

REGULAR CANCELLATIONS

Where a student persistently cancels lessons or fails to show up with no notice, I reserve the right to terminate their lessons immediately, unless contacted within 48 hours with an acceptable reason. 

 DISCONTINUATION

If you wish to discontinue lessons, any fees paid will be forfeited if the lessons don't continue up to the end of the contracted period. If you are taking time out and intend to return, any outstanding lessons can be carried over to your return date but I regret I am unable to hold the unpaid sessions while you are away. It may be available on your return or we may have to find another day/time. After summer and Christmas holiday breaks, regular students will be given priority on their return.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read the above, and the Lessons and Fees pages carefully before deciding whether you wish to enrol for lessons. Terms and Conditions will be given when you begin and when you are satisfied with these, you will be asked to sign the two Agreement forms, one for your future reference and the second for my records. You may wish to refer back to them occasionally to remind yourself of the content.

CHANGES TO TERMS

Be sure to check regularly on the website for changes and to read all newsletters sent to you by email, as this is the only way you will know of changes that occur. 

STUDIO RULES

A set of studio rules is posted in the waiting room and all new students will be given a copy with their welcome packs. Students are expected to abide by these and to treat the studio and equipment with respect and consideration.
